With three straight months of over 6,000 units sold, Suzuki Auto South Africa achieved a record-breaking first half and welcomed its 300,000th customer. This milestone success is proof of the growing trust in the Suzuki brand across the country.

  • 6,072 units sold in September, third consecutive month over 6,000
  • Record first-half sales with 35,597 vehicles sold, up 7,338 from previous year
  • Major milestones include 300,000th customer and new monthly sales records

Suzuki Auto South Africa recorded another strong month in September 2025, with 6,072 new passenger and light commercial vehicles sold, according to the latest report from industry body naamsa.

This marks the third consecutive month the Japanese carmaker has exceeded 6,000 units, and the tenth straight month it has finished second in South Africa’s overall manufacturer rankings.

The fourth-generation Swift led the brand’s sales with 2,265 units, followed by the Fronx with 1,054 units and the Ertiga with 765 units.

September’s strong performance capped a record-breaking first half of Suzuki Auto South Africa’s 2025/2026 financial year. From April 1 to September 30, the company sold a total of 35,597 new vehicles, surpassing the first half of the 2024/25 fiscal year by 7,338 units.

During this period, Suzuki achieved several South African milestones, including its highest-ever monthly dealer sales of 5,069 units in July and a new overall monthly sales record of 6,399 units in August. In April, Suzuki welcomed its 300,000th local customer, just 22 months after reaching the 200,000 milestone in July 2023.

This success is due not only to the focus of Suzuki Auto’s growing dealer network but also to its diverse product range, which spans affordable vehicles for younger first-time buyers to rugged off-roaders built for adventure. Of the 16 models currently available in South Africa, the Swift has been the standout performer with 11,599 units sold over the past six months, followed by the Fronx (7,001 units) and the Ertiga (5,139 units).

“I am exceptionally proud of what our team at Suzuki Auto South Africa has achieved in the first half of the 2025/2026 financial year,” says Henno Havenga, GM of Auto Sales and Marketing at Suzuki Auto South Africa.

“This milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in the organisation, and especially our 117-strong dealer network who represent the Suzuki brand with such genuine pride, passion and care.”

“These results encourage us to keep developing cars that deliver on our promise of quality, reliability and fun motoring, underpinned by trusted Japanese engineering. Above all, we are grateful to our customers for the confidence they place in Suzuki – their trust is truly inspiring and drives us to keep improving.”

“This strong start to the fiscal year is incredibly encouraging, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the months ahead.”
