Share your creativity and you could win a family hamper pack. Adult colouring in went from being an esoteric oddity to a mainstream hobby and now it’s a way to win a family hamper pack from Suzuki!
Aside giving you the chance to win, adult colouring in is a good pastime to pick up for destressing. “Famed psychotherapist Carl Jung recommended coloring mandalas to his patients, as he believed they represent the ‘inner process by which individuals grow toward fulfilling their potential for wholeness,’” writes Life Hack. South African psychologists also take advantage of the benefits of adult colouring in. Richard Middleton, a Johannesburg based clinical psychologist, who gives colouring in pages to some patients, says “It’s a mindfulness based practice which takes us out of the past and the future which grounds us in the present. This helps us to calm down and think clearly.”

The hobby is also good for the brain. Dr Nikki Martinez writes for Huffington Post: “It utilizes areas of the brain that enhance focus and concentration. It also helps with problem solving and organizational skills. This may sound strange, and like perhaps the usefulness is being stretched, but it is all true. Our frontal lobes are responsible for these higher level activities and functions of the brain, and coloring detailed pictures activates all those properties. Think of considering complex color schemes, and using the brain to balance and make the picture aesthetically pleasing.”
Aside from all of that, it’s also just a lot of fun. Enter our competition to give it a try, or if you’re a regular at colouring in, enter to win the family hamper pack.
