Mimo’s connection with Suzuki began long before she stepped into a dealership.
Over the years, Mimo had the chance to drive different Suzuki models, from the Vitara to the Baleno, through her work as a brand partner. And then, what started as exposure turned into something more personal.
"I always say I’m that influencer that got influenced," Mimo laughs. "Suzuki has been one of the best brands... to be given the opportunity to actually enjoy the car before you purchase it has been absolutely amazing."
When it came time to buy her own car, she knew exactly what she was looking for. “I wanted that ‘big body’ feel of an SUV,” she explains, “but not something too big.” Something that could keep up with her day-to-day life without feeling overwhelming.
That search led her to the Suzuki Fronx. After one test drive in October, she knew. “This is my car,” she said, laughing. When she decided to make it official, the Fronx was out of stock, and she was told she might have to wait months.
"I was thinking, ‘I don't think I can wait that long,’" she said. "But because I loved it so much, I was like, 'I am going to wait.'"
On December 23rd, she received the call that a Silver Grey Fronx was available. The timing meant everything. December 23rd was her late mother’s birthday and she embraced it. Her Fronx became a deeply personal tribute to herself and her mom.
"I named her ‘Goitsiene- Modimo ’ which means ‘Only God Knows,’" Mimo shares. "Fronxy has been the most beautiful baby I’ve ever gotten."
Beyond her own connection to her car, a moment that stood out was when she finally drove her Fronx home to show her father. He hadn’t been part of the initial car-shopping process, but as someone who knows a quality vehicle when he sees one, his opinion mattered. After one drive, he gave her the ‘dad’s nod of approval’, saying "you made the best choice."

Every journey starts the same way. “We don’t go anywhere without a prayer,” she says. “I’m so attached to my car. It’s one of those cars that somehow listens to you.”

In 2023, despite recovering from a broken back, she joined a Suzuki trip to Botswana and found herself off-roading in a Jimny. It ended up being one of her most memorable experiences.
"I’m very adventurous when it comes to cars. I wanted a car that can go anywhere and everywhere," she says. While her Fronx lives its best life on urban streets instead of mountain peaks, she believes every Suzuki has a personality that matches its driver.
"It’s a personality car. For someone young and starting, you have the Swift. For an independent woman who loves big cars but not too big, we say Fronx. If you want adventure, you go for the Jimny."
