Suzuki once again wins the coveted Brand of the Year award and retains their title in both the Budget Car of the Year and the Compact Family Car of the Year categories.
We’ve done it again! For the second year in a row, we’ve won the most prestigious award at the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards: Brand of the Year.
As Women on Wheels points out, we’re the only brand to both retain the award, and to win it more than once! Voted for by real owners in the ownership survey, this is a genuine reflection of Suzuki quality.
“We think the Brand of the Year trophy is the ultimate accolade in the South African automotive industry‚” said Cars.co.za’s consumer experience manager Hannes Oosthuizen. “It represents validation from the people that matter most – actual car owners. Suzuki has managed to achieve impressive market share growth in the past 12 months while also maintaining excellent service levels.
We also won Budget Car of the Year - the Ignis beat out last year’s winner; another Suzuki model, the Celerio. Says Women on Wheels, “In this category, fuel consumption, affordability and innovative design carry significant weight, and while getting high scores from judges, its score from owners was significantly higher than all the other scores and that assured it the Budget Car-crown.”
“The Ignis’s maiden appearance in these awards bodes well for the rest of the year, where it will also compete in the 2018 WesBank South African Car of the Year competition. We have also decided to cap its sales price to accommodate the many people who are on the Ignis waiting list,” says Mr. Yukio Sato, Managing Director at Suzuki Auto South Africa.
The Vitara once again won Compact Family Car of the Year.
“Unlike the other awards on the night, the Brand of the Year Award is chosen purely on questionnaire feedback from owners and fellow South Africans, which is a sure sign that our hard work done on our service levels, vehicle line-up and pricing is welcomed by the market,” says Mr. Yukio Sato, Managing Director at Suzuki Auto South Africa.
